In the fall of 1727, young Benjamin Franklin and a group of friends founded the Junto Club. They would meet on Friday evenings in a tavern to discuss issues of morals, politics, science, or natural philosophy. The Junto Attic Bar pays tribute to this history with a 26-seat cocktail lounge hidden above the hustle of Mercer Street. This modern day speakeasy is a place for neighbors to gather and unwind up and away from the bustle of the downtown nightlife. Reclaimed timbers and attic floorboards offer a rustic contrast to custom woodwork and rich damask wallpaper. Unlike other concepts in our portfolio, it is not until guests are seated that the bar is revealed. Built around a stained glass window from the 1850s, it sets a prayerful tone for guests to raise a glass to the holy cocktail.
